The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has opened applications for its fully funded PhD scholarships for 2027.
Pakistani students are being given the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies at recognised universities and research institutions in Germany.
The scholarship is funded with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and covers the full cost of study.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarships, the applicants must hold a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification. In some exceptional cases, candidates with a bachelor’s degree may also be considered.
Candidates must also have approval for their proposed research. They should meet the required language proficiency.
Additionally, they must not have been living in Germany for more than 15 months by the application deadline.
Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of €1,400, health, accident and personal liability insurance. Additionally, an annual study allowance of €460 and travel support will also be given.
The scholarship also includes German language course fees, accommodation support and family allowances, where it is applicable.

How to apply
Applicants have to submit their applications through the DAAD online portal to apply.
Along with that, they need to add a research proposal, academic transcripts, CV, motivation letter and letters of recommendation.
Deadline
The application deadline for Pakistani students is August 31, 2026. Applicants from some other countries have until October 21, 2026 to apply.
DAAD EPOS SEPT scholarship 2027
Prior to this, Germany opened applications for the 2027 DAAD EPOS SEPT Scholarship at Leipzig University.
The fully funded scholarship gives international students the opportunity to study an MBA in Small Enterprise Promotion and Training (SEPT).
The MBA programme focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It also includes classroom learning, practical training, case studies and international exposure.
The programme will be held at Leipzig University and will run for one year and 10 months.
The scholarship is open to applicants from developing and newly industrialised countries. Candidates are generally required to have at least two years of relevant work experience.
