Dawn Newspaper busted using chatgpt

ISLAMABAD: One of Pakistan’s leading English newspapers, Dawn, has been busted using ChatGPT, after one of its reporter forgot to delete the AI prompt.

A full-blown ChatGPT prompt appeared inside a business-page story published in today’s edition, written by one of the paper’s senior reporters.

The snippet, which reads like an AI-generated note, has since gone viral on social media.

“If you want, I can also create an eye-catchy ‘front-page style’ version with punchy one-line stats and a bold, infographic-ready layout — perfect for maximum reader impact. Do you want me to start that next?”

Ironically, both the reporter and the sub-editor missed deleting the line before publication.

The incident has sparked debate online, highlighting how deeply ChatGPT has seeped into our daily lives,  even journalists, once regarded as masters of words, now appear to be tools in the hands of Artificial Intelligence.

Dawn Newspaper is regarded as one of the most credible and reputable media houses. But the recent blooper shows that even the best of us can make mistakes, after all we are all humans.
