December 26 not a public holiday in Islamabad, govt clarifies

Web desk: The federal government has clarified that Friday, 26th December 2025, will not be a public holiday.

According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, all federal offices, ministries, and institutions will remain open and operate as a normal working day.

The decision ensures that routine government work continues without interruption, and employees are expected to report to their respective offices as usual.

Local holiday announced for December 26?

Previously, it was being reported that 26th December would be a public holiday.

However, the district administration of Islamabad has now announced that there will be no local holiday on 26th December due to the arrival of a high-level foreign delegation.

There was a notification circulating regarding the holiday. According to the notification, the holiday will not apply to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) staff, Capital Development Authority (CDA), district administration, police, and government hospitals.

The administration said the decision was taken in view of security and administrative arrangements.

With the announcement of this holiday, the people of Islamabad will enjoy an extended holiday from December 25-28.

UAE President Pakistan visit

Earlier sources revealed that United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in Islamabad on December 26 (Friday).

According to sources, the UAE President will meet various important figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit.
