Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the global demand for Pakistani aircraft has increased following what he described as a “great victory in ‘Marka-e-Haq’ the landmark Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Addressing the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, he stated that Pakistan was holding talks with several countries for the sale of its fighter jets, citing a surge in international demand following the country’s success against India in the May 2025 armed conflict.
He said that recent success on the diplomatic and strategic front had enhanced Pakistan’s international standing, which was reflected in the growing interest from foreign countries in Pakistani-made aircraft.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the economy and promoting Pakistan’s capabilities at global level.
“Pakistan has made significant economic progress in a short span of time, citing recent developments and international engagements as positive indicators for the country’s future” he added.
Prime minister welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with World Liberty Financial, calling it a step that would help strengthen Pakistan’s economy and attract further investment.
Emphasising the importance of the defence sector, Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to further enhance defense production, noting that it would not only bolster national security but also contribute positively to economic growth.
He paid tribute to the Pakistani Armed Forces, particularly the Pakistan Air Force, on the successful launch of the Timor Weapon System. The prime minister said that following the May war, global demand for Pakistani-made warplanes has increased, reflecting growing international confidence in Pakistan’s defense capabilities.
