Democracy will never surrender in Pakistan, says Bilawal Bhutto

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while paying tribute to his mother, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, has said that the life of the daughter of the east was a rare combination of courage and compassion.

He said that her sacrifice guarantees that democracy in Pakistan will never surrender.

While giving a message on the 18th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, the PPP Chairman said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not just a leader, but she was the voice of democracy, the hope of the middle-class society.

She was an unshakable symbol of resistance against dictatorship, extremism, and intolerance.

Bilawal Bhutto said that even with severe difficulties as Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto promoted people-friendly policies, strengthened Pakistan’s defense, and protected national sovereignty.

He claimed that she restored the country’s progressive and dignified identity at the global level.

Remembering Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal Bhutto said that despite the martyrdom of her father and brothers and years of suffering, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto remained committed to her political goals until her last day.

She stood fearlessly in the struggle for democracy and remained its brave advocate until the very end of her life.
