Dense fog continues to disrupt travel across Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), forcing authorities to close several motorway sections to ensure public safety.
Motorway Police reported that M-1 is closed for all traffic from Swabi to Burhan, M-4 from Sher Shah to Sham Kot, M-5 from Sher Shah to Sukkur, and M-14 from Fateh Jang to Kot Badian. Thick fog has also affected various sectors of Islamabad and surrounding areas, as well as cities including Jaffarabad, Sohbatpur, Shikarpur, and Bolan, reducing visibility significantly.
Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed said the closures were essential to protect lives and property amid hazardous weather. Fog has also reduced visibility on several National Highway routes.
Authorities warned that lane violations during fog could trigger serious accidents. They urged drivers to follow lane discipline, use fog lights, reduce speed, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
Officials advised citizens to travel during daytime, recommending safe travel between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm when visibility is relatively better.
