Dense fog once again covered parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between Wednesday and Thursday night, bringing routine life to a standstill and disrupting motorway traffic due to low visibility, a private media channel reported.
The thick fog severely affected road traffic in several cities of Punjab and KP. A Motorway spokesperson said authorities closed the M-1 from Peshawar to Rashakai, the M-2 from Thokar Niaz Baig to Chakri, the M-3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, the M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakim, the M-11 from Lahore to Sambrial and the M-14 from Anjra to Isa Khek for all types of traffic.

Cold and dry weather will continue across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, while very cold conditions will prevail in hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog is likely to disrupt daily life in several districts of Punjab, upper Sindh and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said Islamabad and surrounding areas will experience partly cloudy and cold weather, with frost expected at a few places during early morning hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and dry weather will affect most districts, while hilly areas will remain very cold with partly cloudy skies. Fog is likely to persist in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan and nearby areas during morning and night hours.
