In Dera Bugti, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation following information about the presence of terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, five Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell.”
“Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.”, said the press release.
Moreover it added, “Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”
The security situation in Balochistan has worsened over the last few months, as militants, long involved in a low-level insurgency, have stepped up the frequency and intensity of their attacks. Recently, the Frontier Corps headquarters in Nokundi, a town in Chagai district, came under attack.
After this, the Balochistan government announced that it would launch a crackdown against 300 suspected terrorists, while approaching Interpol to apprehend leaders of proscribed organisations residing outside of Pakistan.
