Reports from across India indicate multiple incidents during the Christmas period.

In Raipur, decorations prepared for a Christmas event were destroyed. While similar displays in shopping malls were also vandalised by extremist groups.

“Around 80-90 people barged in. For the last 16 years, since we began operations here…I have never seen such behaviour. The mob threatened us…shouted at us. They indulged in violence,” an employee of the mall was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

In Assam, extremists associated with Bajrang Dal reportedly set fire to Christmas decorations.

In Uttar Pradesh, slogans were raised outside churches. And in Madhya Pradesh, extremist elements reportedly entered churches, causing damage and shouting provocative slogans.

In Kerala, a group of children, mostly under the age of 15, taking part in a Christmas carol procession on December 21, were reportedly attacked. And their musical instruments were destroyed.

Local reports identified the assailant as being affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), according to The News Minute.
