The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially launched a new e-transfer policy for school teachers, in a big step towards modernising the education system in the province.
Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Arshad Ayub Khan inaugurated the E Transfer Policy Plus in Peshawar, introducing a digital system designed to improve how teachers are transferred between schools
The system will handle transfers for teaching staff, including manual and vacant posts, along with tenure-based transfers for education management and ministerial cadres
Officials briefing the minister said that the policy operates through a structured scoring system. Transfers will be decided based on factors such as length of service, student-teacher ratio, academic performance, and attendance. Additional priority will be given to individuals with disabilities, widows, and those with higher qualifications or specific domicile requirements
Senior officials, including Muhammad Khalid and Naumana Sardar, were also present at the launch
Speaking at the event, the minister described the initiative as a historic reform that ensures transparency, fairness, and accessibility. He said that teachers previously faced difficulties and often relied on informal methods for transfers, but the new system allows them to apply directly from home through a mobile application
The government believes this digital transformation will not only improve administrative efficiency but also enhance academic performance and student outcomes across the province.
HEC announces exchange program for teachers
Earlier, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) launched a new Faculty Exchange Program to create new international teaching and research opportunities for university teachers across Pakistan.
Under this initiative, Pakistani teachers will be able to teach and conduct research at leading universities abroad. At the same time, foreign faculty members from technologically advanced countries will visit Pakistan to teach at local universities, helping strengthen academic collaboration and global engagement.
According to HEC, international professors participating in the programme will teach at Pakistani institutions for two to sixteen weeks. During this period, students will gain valuable exposure to global academic standards, innovative teaching methods, and international research practices.
The exchange programme will also introduce modern and updated courses at the undergraduate, master’s, and PhD levels, aiming to enhance curriculum quality and promote joint research initiatives. By encouraging knowledge sharing between local and international scholars, the initiative seeks to raise overall academic standards across Pakistan’s higher education sector.
HEC stated that the programme is part of its broader strategy to internationalise Pakistani universities and equip faculty and students with world-class learning experiences. The commission believes that such collaborations will improve research output, academic networking, and institutional development nationwide.
Interested faculty members are encouraged to apply through the official HEC channels and take advantage of this opportunity to expand their professional horizons.
