As petrol prices hike in Pakistan, consumers can reduce their fuel expenses by using various petrol discount cards and digital payment options offering cashback and rewards.

To benefit from petrol price discounts, motorists can use dedicated fuel loyalty cards such as GO Cards, which provide reward points, cashless transactions, and savings at over 150 fuel stations nationwide.

Several banks are also offering fuel discount card options, including the HBL FuelSaver Credit Card, which provides up to 5% cashback on fuel purchases, and Standard Chartered’s Xtra Mile account, designed specifically for petrol savings.

Digital wallets are another way to secure petrol discounts, as platforms like Easypaisa allow users to scan QR codes at selected fuel stations to receive instant cashback on fuel prices.

Major companies in Pakistan’s petrol sector, including Shell and Attock, have introduced their own fuel discount cards and mobile app-based reward systems, enabling customers to earn points and save on petrol purchases.

Petrol price hike

The government increased the petrol prices by Rs 14.92; the new petrol price is Rs 414.78. On the other hand, the government also increased the diesel prices by Rs 15, and the new diesel price is Rs 414.58.  

The price of petrol has jumped from Rs399.86 to Rs414.78, while the HSD price increased from Rs399.58 to Rs414.58 per litre.

This marks the third consecutive increase in petrol and diesel prices after cumulative hikes of Rs33.28 on petrol and Rs46.16 on diesel over the previous two weeks.

According to sources in the Petroleum Division, the petrol and diesel levy has been raised by Rs13.91 per litre.

The levy on petrol has increased from Rs103.50 to Rs117.41 per litre, while the levy on diesel has been raised from Rs28.69 to Rs42.60 per litre, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs41.80 per litre, according to a notification issued by the authorities.

Following the cut, the new price of kerosene oil has been fixed at Rs318.96 per litre.

The government has been reviewing petroleum prices every Friday night amid global oil market volatility linked to the US-Iran conflict.
