DR Congo has secured a spot in the Round of 32 and claimed their first World Cup win.
They returned to the World Cup for the first time in 52 years
The African side will face England in Atlanta on Wednesday in the round of 32.
Uzbekistan took an early lead through Eldor Shomurodov, but the second half was all DR Congo as Yoane Wissa scored twice either side of Fiston Mayele’s crucial go-ahead goal.
The Congolese players executed a dramatic, come-from-behind scoring surge after facing early pressure from the Uzbek squad. Thousands of traveling fans celebrated the momentous achievement as the team secured its path out of the tournament’s group phase.
Two second-half goals from Yoane Wissa and one from Fiston Mayele sealed the stunning win.
Overall, DR Congo won one match, drew one and lost one in the group stage, despite being drawn in a tough group with Portugal and Colombia.

Meanwhile, Portugal and Colombia played out a hard-fought goalless draw, allowing DR Congo to secure a place in the Round of 32.
Portugal will now face Croatia in the Round of 32 in Toronto, where fans could witness a blockbuster showdown between Luka Modrić and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Group K winners Colombia will take on Ghana in Kansas City. Ghana have already shown they can trouble top sides, having held England to a goalless draw during the group stage.
