Former spokesperson of the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Dr Irfan Ashraf, on Monday announced joining the AJK Muslim Conference. He made this announcement during a press conference held at National Press Club Islamabad.

In a post on X, he revealed that he decided to carry on the legacy of past sacrifices for the liberation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir against the illegal occupation of the region by India.

He further stated that he believes in protecting the cause of the movement under the leadership of the party’s president, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan.

AJK Muslim Conference

The conference in AJK made an announcement last week regarding the upcoming elections that it would field candidates in all of the 45 constituencies.

The conference established its role as a benefactor in preserving the integrity of all future generations.

The party’s president said that time and circumstances have promoted the importance and relevance of the conference, which had previously been rendered disgraceful during the ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’ convention.

The decision came from the party’s core committe,e where it was mutually agreed upon that elections would be contested from all constituencies.

In the past, the conference had seen a decline in popularity and parliamentary politics with the establishment of larger, more influential political parties. With Sardar Attique, a second consecutive government was formed by the party.

The party’s president also mentioned that the slogan, ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’, was not just a slogan but also instilled hope in the hearts of people who believed in an independent Kashmir.
