Dr Nabiha lashes out at trolls, backtracks on wedding dress price

Dr Nabiha lashes out at trolls

LAHORE: Social media influencer Dr Nabiha Ali Khan, hitting back at her critics, said her wedding dress was not worth millions and that her “tongue slipped out of joy.”

The newlywed has been in the spotlight for revealing the price of her jewellery and bridal dress, which sparked criticism on social media. In a video statement, Nabiha clarified that her dress did not cost millions and that she misspoke because she was overjoyed on her big day.

“Sometimes a person is so happy that they say something worth millions is worth crores,” she said, laughing off the controversy.

Dr Nabiha, who recently married a long-time friend several years younger than her, also lashed out at those mocking her for flaunting her expensive outfit and jewellery.

“You people have made this a joke. What’s your problem if I wear a dress worth one crore, 250 crore, or even 50 crore?” she said sarcastically.

She added, “I don’t know if I wore a lehenga worth one crore. In reality, I just feel like worth millions. In my dreams, I talk about millions and whatever I wear becomes expensive.”

Maulana Tariq Jamil’s Son clarifies

Maulana Tariq Jamil also faced backlash after Dr. Nabiha Ali Khan invited several social media influencers to her wedding, where various videos went viral. Many questioned why Maulana was seated beside Nabiha while solemnising her Nikkah and why the ceremony took place at his residence, followed by celebrations.

Responding to the controversy, Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son, Maulana Yousaf Jamil, said his father had conducted thousands of Nikkahs and that the brides were like his daughters. He explained that his father is elderly, not a young man of 30, and meant no harm by sitting beside the bride, though it might have been better avoided.

He added that he personally did not know Dr. Nabiha and only saw her after the Nikkah. Yousaf Jamil said his father is a soft-hearted man who never stops anyone, but Dr. Nabiha should have respected that it was Maulana’s home and refrained from singing and recording videos during the ceremony.
