The Punjab government has expanded its digital services by enabling citizens to renew their regular driving licences through the DASTAK App, eliminating the need to visit licensing centres in person.
Under the new system, residents across Punjab can complete the entire licence renewal process from their mobile phones. The service has been integrated with the province’s online licensing system, allowing applicants to submit personal information, upload documents, pay fees electronically, and track the status of their applications from home.
Documents Required
Applicants must provide the following documents when applying through the DASTAK App:
- A recent passport-sized photograph
- Front and back images of their valid CNIC
- Front and back copies of their driving licence
- A medical certificate issued by a government-registered doctor for applicants over 50 years of age
- An active mobile phone number and email address
Application Process
To apply, users must download the DASTAK App from the Play Store or App Store and create an account using their name, CNIC, and mobile number.
After logging in, applicants should select “Driving Licence Services” and choose the “Regular Driving Licence Renewal” option. They will then be required to enter their licence number, CNIC details, date of birth, and licence category before uploading the necessary documents.
Once the information is submitted, the system generates a PSID number, which can be used to pay the renewal fee through mobile banking, internet banking, or ATM services.
After payment, applicants must complete the final submission process. The status of the application including approval, review, or dispatch can be monitored through the DASTAK App or the DLIMS portal.
Important Guidelines
Authorities have advised citizens to renew their licences before the expiry date to avoid additional penalties. Late renewal charges will be applied automatically based on the length of the delay, ranging from one month to more than a year.
Traffic police and DASTAK officials also warned that applications may be delayed due to common mistakes such as uploading unclear images, entering incorrect information, failing to submit the application after payment, or not providing a required medical certificate.
