The Punjab Traffic Police has introduced a new facility for driving license holders. Citizens can now renew their driving license and take the driving test in any district of Punjab instead of only their home district.
According to the IG Punjab, once the relevant permission is granted, citizens will also be able to get a second license issued from any city in the province. The step is meant to help people who live away from their home district for work, study, or other reasons and previously had to travel long distances for license-related tasks.
The new facility will save citizens both time and travel costs. License renewal and testing will become quicker and easier, and crowding at driving license centers is expected to go down.
The Punjab Traffic Police says it is working to make the driving license system more modern and people-friendly. Officials say the facility will be expanded further so more citizens can benefit from it.
