Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, on Monday, emphasised the significance of sending remittances to Pakistan through formal and legal banking channels.

He stated that utilising regulated financial systems not only bolsters Pakistan’s economy but also protects the hard-earned income of overseas workers.

The Consul General made these comments during an Iftar dinner and community engagement event at Al Ghurair Workers Camp in Sonapur, Dubai.

This event was organised by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Al Ansari Exchange, in partnership with the Consulate General of Pakistan.

The initiative sought to educate the Pakistani community on the advantages of legal remittance channels, recognise their essential contributions to Pakistan’s economy, and share Iftar with workers during the holy month of Ramadan.

A significant number of Pakistani workers participated in the event, alongside Muhammad Saleh, Press Counsellor, Community Welfare Attachés Junaid Murtaza and Imran Shahid, as well as representatives from NBP and Al Ansari Exchange.
