LAHORE: YouTuber Saad ur Rehman famously known as Ducky Bhai is under severe mental stress and keeps asking when his ordeal will end, his brother says.
Zia Zulfiqar, brother of YouTuber Ducky Bhai, in his video message said that his brother is under great mental stress and when he went to meet him in jail, he had been crying for two days straight and was questioning that when will all this be over.
“What is all this? The case isn’t that big”, he has said.
During the jail visit, they communicated with Saad over a telephone through the glass partition and learned that many other inmates are also victims of blackmail.
Saad has been in custody for three months, including 22 days on physical remand, and the rest of the time in jail.
He said that false news circulating on social media claiming Saad could face seven years in prison and a fine of 15 million rupees, which is far from the truth.
He added that the case has affected not just Saad but the entire family, especially the women. Zia criticized social media and news reports, saying that many posts contained a mix of truth and falsehood.
Zia Zulfiqar also said their legal action against National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) is not for personal gain, but for all those who have fallen victim to blackmail.
Zia said that upon returning from jail, he, his mother and Aroob (Ducky Bhai’s wife) often think that they are lucky to be able to afford the lawyer’s fees and travel expenses, while many prisoners are so financially weak that they cannot get their own legal help.
He clarified that NCCIA as an institution is not corrupt, but it came into contact with individuals who were abusing their authority. FIA Anti-Corruption provided full support and stood by the family throughout the process.
