Several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were shaken by strong earthquake tremors on Saturday, but no immediate reports of casualties or damage have come so far.
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale with a depth of 216 kilometres. The epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
Tremors were felt in multiple districts including Malakand, Shangla and Buner, prompting residents to rush out of their homes while reciting prayers.
Authorities said no loss of life or property has been reported so far.
Islamabad hit by second earthquake in 24 hours
Earthquake tremors hit Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Attock and Swabi.
According to the Seismological Centre, the quake registered 4.4 on the Richter scale, with its depth recorded at 14 kilometres.
Officials reported the epicentre was situated 11 kilometres northeast of the Burhan area in Attock district.
No immediate reports of casualties or property damage have emerged.
The tremors follow a stronger earthquake felt in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa just a day earlier. The previous earthquake measured 5.6 in magnitude, at a depth of 73 kilometres, with its epicentre located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
Earthquake tremors felt across Pakistan
Yesterday, earthquake tremors were felt in Peshawar, Islamabad and the surrounding regions.
An earthquake was felt in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), along with several other districts of the province.
According to reports, tremors were also felt in Hangu, Kohat, Buner, Shangla, North Waziristan, Bajaur, Swat, Swabi and Upper Dir. The earthquake caused fear among residents in these areas.
Tremors were also reported in the federal capital, Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday. Many people left their homes and offices in panic.
The earthquake struck shortly after iftar at around 6:07 PM. In Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, and other regions, people rushed outside as the tremors were felt.
Many left their iftar meals and began reciting prayers. According to initial reports, several cities across the country were shaken by an earthquake at the time of iftar. People rushed out of their homes and buildings in search of safe places.

Tremors were felt in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat, Mardan and nearby areas, Lower Dir, Malakand, Chitral, Khyber, Bara, Jamrud, Landi Kotal and Tirah. The earthquake was also felt in Sargodha and the surrounding areas.
During the tremors, many people came out of their houses while reciting the Kalma. So far, there have been no reports of any loss of life or property.
