ECP officially notifies winners of 13 AJK seats in Mirpur Division

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has officially notified the successful candidates from all 13 constituencies in the Mirpur Division following the first phase of the general elections.

Election Commission Secretary Raja Muhammad Shakeel signed the notification, confirming that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won nine seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured four.

The notification formally records the names, parentage, political affiliations and constituency details of all successful candidates.

In Mirpur district, PML-N candidates Azhar Sadiq and Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed won their respective seats. PPP candidates Qasim Majeed and Chaudhry Yasir Sultan also emerged victorious.

PML-N won all three seats in Bhimber district. Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Chaudhry Abdul Razzaq and Chaudhry Tariq Farooq were declared successful.

In Kotli district, PML-N won four of the six seats. Umair Naeem, Raja Muhammad Asif, Raja Riasat Khan and Raja Ayaz Ahmed secured victories. PPP candidates Malik Zafar Iqbal and Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin won the remaining two seats.

With the official notification, the Election Commission has formally confirmed the election of all 13 members from the Mirpur Division.

After taking a clear lead in the first phase, political parties are now preparing for the second phase of the elections, scheduled for August 2. Voters will elect representatives from the Muzaffarabad Division and 12 seats reserved for refugees from Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir living in Pakistan.
