Educational storytelling session encourages digital safety for children

Remedial therapist, Sabeen Naz, held a physical storytelling session on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at The Golden Crust Cafe in Islamabad.

The storytelling session was aimed at bridging the generational gap between children and parents through an interactive learning experience.

The session conducted an origami activity where children navigated the world of online spaces through the creation of a ‘Data Donkey’. The activity centered on cultivating an understanding of safety and responsible behavior in digital spaces.

The children were seen participating with great enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence. Parents, on the other hand, appreciated the creative collaboration and expression of storytelling and practical skills.

Ms. Nigar Nazar, a popular cartoonist, attended the session with her grandchildren. Parents and children felt inspired by her presence at the event.

At the end, the session opened the floor for family discourse on digital awareness and safety online which was supported with recommendations by UNICEF.

Parents also expressed the importance of activity-based learning and critical thinking skills among children who are active on digital spaces.
