Eid travel made easier: Airlines add extra flights to ease travel rush

Airlines add extra flights to ease Eid travel rush

Flight disruptions have started to decrease across Pakistan as the number of cancelled flights across the country has dropped from around 100 to 42.

This shows that flight operations are becoming more stable, according to the reports on Friday.

There has also been a rise in incoming flights from major Gulf cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dammam, and Riyadh. Many overseas Pakistanis are returning home to celebrate Eid with their families.

Earlier, aviation authorities and airlines had planned extra flights for Eid to manage the seasonal rush.

Recent figures show that these steps are now helping improve connectivity and reduce travel problems.

Experts say this increase in flights shows how important air travel is during Eid, especially for Pakistani workers living in the Gulf.

Airlines are still watching the regional situation closely while trying to avoid disruptions for passengers.

However, air travel has become more expensive this year. Ticket prices in Pakistan have increased by up to 20 per cent ahead of Eid ul Fitr. Both domestic and international fares have gone up by 10 to 20 per cent.

According to the details, the main reason for this increase is the rise in jet fuel prices. This has raised airline operating costs.

At the same time, domestic travel demand has dropped, as higher fares are discouraging people from flying within the country.

In contrast, international travel has increased as more people return home for the festive season.

This is especially from Gulf countries to Pakistan.

Airlines have increased their flight operations for Eid ul Fitr as passenger demand rises sharply.

This increase has taken place despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Airport sources said that 31 flights departed from Lahore alone. This shows heavy travel activity during the holiday period.

Due to regional conditions, airlines also changed some of their routes. Flights from Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot, and Karachi were redirected to Al Ain Airport instead of Fujairah.
