Eid ul Fitr has been announced in Mardan for Friday with at least 17 testimonies of moon sighting on Thursday.
Earlier, some parts of Bajaur also announced that they will be celebrating Eid ul Fitr on Friday.
Despite the official announcement by the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee that the moon had not been sighted, various areas of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP) have announced to celebrate the Eid tomorrow.
According to local sources, announcements were made on the loudspeakers of mosques in different areas of Bajaur to celebrate Eid ul Fitr on Friday, March 20.
After this announcement, preparations have started at the local level to celebrate Eid tomorrow.
Eid celebrations in Bannu
According to the reports, Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, in Tehsil Kakki of Bannu after 22 moon sighting testimonies were received.
Eid ul Fitr announced for Saturday in Peshawar
In Peshawar, the meeting of the Ruet e Hilal Committee at Jamia Masjid Qasim Ali Khan concluded after three and a half hours.
The committee declared the moon sighting testimonies insufficient and announced that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21.
It should be noted that the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee has announced that the moon has not been sighted anywhere in the country and has announced that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21.
The Central Ruet e Hilal Committee announced on Thursday that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted.
The meeting to sight the Shawwal 1447 AH moon was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony office in Kohsar Block, Pak Secretariat, Constitution Avenue, Islamabad.
The meeting was chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee.
Bangladesh, Malaysia updates on Eid moon sighting
According to the reports, the moon has not been sighted, after which it has been decided to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, March 21, in both countries.
According to Malaysian media, during the observations made to see the moon across the country, the Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere.
Similarly, in Bangladesh, after the steps taken for sighting the crescent, no authentic evidence of the sighting of the moon was received.
