Previously, the Lahore High Court approved the bail petition of public speaker Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, providing him relief in the case filed against him.

The verdict was announced after a comprehensive hearing in which the court examined arguments from both the defence and the prosecution.

Engineer Ali Mirza’s legal team had filed the petition, noting concerns over the nature of the allegations and the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

They argued that the case lacked substantial evidence. They also emphasised that Engineer Ali Mirza had fully cooperated with investigative authorities.

During the proceedings, the bench questioned the prosecution on the basis of the charges and the progress of the investigation.

Officials were asked to provide any evidence suggesting that Engineer Ali Mirza could pose a threat or fail to cooperate if granted bail.

After reviewing the arguments, the court concluded that the legal conditions for bail had been met and approved the petition.
