England’s cricket team is expected in Islamabad on October 15, prior to the next tri-nation One Day International (ODI) series with Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.
The team is captained by England’s Harry Brook, and the squad will be heading to Islamabad from London to take part in the tournament from October 18, according to media reports.
The three matches will be used as a prelude to the ICC Cricket World Cup preparations by the teams. The games are all set to be played in the afternoon from 1pm, at Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The first three matches will be played at Rawalpindi cricket stadium. Pakistan will play Sri Lanka in the first match of the tournament on October 18 while Pakistan will take on England on October 20. England will then take on Sri Lanka on October 22.
The tournament will then go to Lahore where the remaining four matches including the final will be played at Gaddafi Stadium.
The Pakistan team will face England once again on October 25th, with Sri Lanka coming next on the 27th, as per the schedule. On October 29, the second group-stage clash will be between England and Sri Lanka.
The final of the three nation ODI series is scheduled at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on October 31, ending the series.
Meanwhile, the series’ ticket sales are already underway. The event is believed to give the teams that are taking part a chance to test their combinations and to reinforce their preparations for future international missions.
The series will be a great opportunity for the Pakistani fans to see their country’s team at home against England and Sri Lanka in a multi-team ODI tournament.
The England squad gives the visitors a couple of days to prepare before kicking off the tournament on October 15, so that they can get ready for their first match in Pakistan.
