England Men U19S have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming four-match Youth ODI series against Pakistan, with Surrey all-rounder Ralphie Albert named captain.
Albert will lead the Young Lions after producing a match-winning six-wicket haul in the Youth Test against Pakistan at Arundel last week, where England secured a 10-run victory.
Nine other players from the Test-winning squad have retained their places for the ODI series: Jack Auld, Tom Edwards, Luke Hands, Isaac Mohammed, Joe Moores, Jack Nelson, Luke Symington, Charlie Taylor and Harry Wallace.
Albert and Middlesex spinner Nelson played a key role in England’s Test victory, taking all 10 wickets in the fourth innings to bowl Pakistan out and seal the win.
Lancashire’s Joe Moores has been selected for the opening ODI before joining England Lions.
Neil Killeen will take charge as head coach for the series, with Mike Yardy joining the England men’s team for the third Rothesay Test against Pakistan. Former England white-ball captain Sam Billings will also join the coaching staff for the series.
The four-match Youth ODI series will begin on September 9 at Arundel Castle Cricket Club, with the remaining matches scheduled for Guildford and Wormsley.
