Epstein victims demand release of all files

Victims of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have appeared in a video demanding the release of more files connected to him.

The 40-second video released in the US on Super Bowl Sunday by World Without Exploitation showed that the survivors holding photographs of their younger selves while saying, “we all deserve the truth”.

Under the existing law, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) was legally obliged to release all the files in December last year. However, it has only released some, keeping many parts hidden.

The DOJ said that some files are not published because they are irrelevant, duplicates and protected under the decision-making process, or because there is violence in those files.

Deliberative process privilege lets US government agencies keep documents that show how decisions are made. Attorney-client privilege protects private communications between lawyers and their clients.

Deputy US Attorney General Todd Blanche stated last month that the material release on January 30, “marks the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process.”

Todd Blanche also remarked that there was, “built in assumption that somehow there’s this hidden tranche of information of men that we know about that we’re covering up or that we’re not we’re choosing not to prosecute”, before adding “that is not the case”.

According to the Epstein files, Elon Musk and Jeffrey Epstein communicated in 2012 and 2013. Their messages included discussions about travel plans and social events. Some emails reportedly mentioned Elon Musk’s interest in visiting Jeffrey Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, a place linked to Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking.

After the release of the Epstein files, Elon Musk addressed the situation on social media. He said he had “very little correspondence” with Jeffrey Epstein and that he declined invitations to visit Epstein’s private properties. Musk also stated that he supports making the Epstein files public and believes that real justice comes from arresting those directly involved in Epstein’s crimes, not just releasing documents.

The inclusion of Elon Musk and other prominent figures in the Epstein files has raised questions about the extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s network.
