Etihad Airways has said that it will not charge fees for changing flight tickets issued on or after March 6, 2026. This policy will stay in place until March 31, 2027, as the regional conflict continues between Iran, the United States (US) and Israel.
Several United Arab Emirates (UAE) airlines are running fewer flights due to the situation. Some flights are getting delayed or even cancelled.
Etihad Airways update on no-show and refund fees
Etihad has said that no-show and refund fees will still apply. And the passengers can change their travel date only once.
The airline has advised the passengers to check their flight status before going to the airport to avoid any confusion.
Passengers have also been advised to make sure their booking is confirmed or wait for updates from Etihad Airways.
Etihad also said that ticket details will appear during online booking. It should be kept in mind that prices may change due to tax changes, so the final price will be confirmed then.
In addition to all this, some limits, such as flight or day restrictions, may be applicable. Blackout periods and extra charges for weekend travel or travel during the peak time may also apply.
Emirates flight update
Emirates is also helping passengers by allowing free date changes for tickets booked from April 2 onwards.
Travellers can make up to nine changes under its travel waiver. This offer is valid until April 30, as per the details.
Before the conflict, Etihad had reported a 47 per cent rise in profit in 2025. It had earned Dh2.6 billion.
For now, the airline plans to invest about Dh80 billion in new aircraft and services over the next 10 years, as per the reports.
The conflict has affected air travel worldwide. But many people in the UAE and GCC are still buying tickets for holidays. They are choosing other destinations instead of cancelling their plans.
Travel agents have said that the people are asking about different places. They are adjusting their plans instead of cancelling trips.
