EU condoles the loss of lives in Islamabad attack

ISLAMABAD: The European Union (EU) has condemned the suicide attack in Islamabad, in which 12 people lost their lives and over 20 people were injured.

In a post shared on ‘X’ the EU Pakistan said, “We are deeply saddened and appalled by the tragic loss of lives in today’s terrorist attack in Islamabad. The EU unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms. Our thoughts are with the bereaved 🇵🇰 families, and we wish a swift recovery to all those injured”.

A powerful explosion occurred near the G-11 Sector courthouse in Islamabad at around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the sound of which was heard far and wide.

Police say that a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle approached a police vehicle and blew himself up. The explosion set fire to nearby vehicles, while the suicide bomber’s body parts flew inside the courthouse.
