Exchange of fire erupts between Pakistani, Afghan forces along border areas

Intense firing broke out on Thursday evening between Pakistani security forces and Afghan forces at multiple points along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Khyber district.

The areas where exchange of fire erupted include Maro Sar and Shah Kot Sar of Bazar Zakha Khel of Khyber district at 5.15 pm.

Both sides reportedly deployed heavy weapons during the exchange, marking a significant escalation in hostilities along this stretch of the frontier. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

It is worth mentioning here that on Tuesday Afghan Taliban opened fire on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Landi Kotal. Tensions rose on the Pak-Afghan border as two Afghan Taliban check posts and one tank were destroyed by Pakistan’s forces. 11 militants have been killed.

Pakistani security forces carried out a highly professional and strong retaliatory operation in response to unprovoked firing and hostile attempts by the Afghan Taliban. They have destroyed a Taliban checkpoint, according to reports.

Taliban forces opened fire on the Tirah border on Tuesday, to which the Pakistan Army has responded strongly with artillery.

Pakistan’s security forces have given a befitting reply to the Afghan Taliban’s unprovoked aggression on the Pak-Afghan border. Pakistani security forces have destroyed several posts of the Afghan Taliban, according to the sources.
