A spokesperson for the Meteorological Department of Pakistan said that these claims are false.
The department also urged that the weather updates should only be seen from official sources to avoid confusion or panic among citizens.
Before this, reports were circulating on social media that claimed that Pakistan would experience an extremely cold winter.
Observations recorded so far also do not confirm these reports.
According to PMD’s forecast, rainfall is expected to be near normal or slightly below normal.
And temperatures are likely to remain slightly above normal in most parts of the country.
PMD emphasised that the winter season is evolving as expected and does not indicate extreme cold.
