Famous tiktok influencer emerges as mastermind of human smuggling ring

Tiktok influencer human smuggling

Using the popularity of social media to deceive innocent citizens with fake promises of overseas jobs and visas, a mafia network has once again been exposed by the Federal Investigation Agency in a major crackdown.

Acting on secret information, FIA Faisalabad Sub-Inspector Bashir Khan carried out an urgent and successful operation that uncovered a large illegal travel agency allegedly operating under the patronage of well-known social media influencer and TikTok personality Zeeshan Ahmed.

According to FIA officials, the suspect operated accounts on social media platforms under the name Zeeshan Travel Wala, where he allegedly used his online influence and promotional videos to trap innocent and unsuspecting citizens.

During a raid on the agency’s office, the FIA team arrested five suspects on the spot. However, the main accused, Zeeshan Ahmed, managed to escape. Special raiding teams have now been formed to arrest him.

Raid details

According to official documents and the FIR issued by the FIA Faisalabad Circle, the arrested suspects include Asif Ali, Dilawar, Munawar, Wajid and Danish Ahmed.

Scale of the visa fraud

Investigators said Zeeshan Ahmed allegedly defrauded a citizen, Ahsan Ali, of Rs800,000 by promising him an overseas job and providing him with a completely fake Dubai visa.

Recovery of illegal material

During the search of the illegal travel agency, authorities recovered a large number of fake visas for various countries, passports, forged work permits and other incriminating documents.

The Federal Investigation Agency Faisalabad has registered a formal case against the suspects under charges related to human smuggling, fraud and the preparation of fake documents.

Visa fraud and ‘digital scammers’ on social media

The operation comes against the backdrop of Pakistan’s ongoing economic crisis, which has increased the desire among young people to seek employment abroad, particularly in Gulf countries and Europe.

Taking advantage of this trend, several TikTok users and Facebook influencers have allegedly formed networks to lure unemployed youth. These individuals upload flashy videos featuring luxurious offices, expensive cars and bundles of visas to gain the trust of people from remote areas.

Following the same strategy, Zeeshan Travel Wala allegedly showed dreams of work permits and settlement in Dubai to several young men, including Ahsan Ali, and collected millions of rupees from them. Victims reportedly discovered the fraud only after reaching airports or verifying their visas.

The FIA had reportedly been monitoring several such digital accounts before carrying out this major operation in Faisalabad.
