Faysal Quraishi expresses disappointment over not receiving Sitara e Imtiaz

In a podcast with Shahzad Nawaz for NJ Spotlight, popular actor Faysal Quraishi expressed frustration over not receiving Sitara e Imtiaz throughout his acting career spanning 33 years.

During the interview, Faysal Quraishi answered a question raised by Shahzad about Sitara e Imtiaz, “I’m thinking of standing in Imtiaz mall to announce I’m not getting Sitara, I will surely get it there. What do I say? They have sent my name back twice. It’s been 33 years.”

When asked about what he lacks as an actor, he replied, “I’m deficient in calcium maybe that’s why. People have even sent me screenshots of emails about nominating me. I’m not even political. I stand with the state.”

He further stated, “I will accept the award if they decide to give it to me.”

Later on in the interview, Faysal Quraishi mentioned receiving calls from a country that recognised his talent and wished to grant him many awards. “I’ve been in talks with them and have been apologising to them.”, he added.
