All exams for the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) scheduled for April 9 and 10 will take place as per the schedule, despite a two day holiday being announced in Islamabad for the peace talks between the United States (US) and Iran set for Friday this week.
Are the FBISE exams getting postponed?
FBISE took to the social media platform Facebook to address the misleading information.
According to the post, all FBISE exams will take place according to the schedule on April 9 and 10, Thursday and Friday this week.
FBISE further requested the students to reach their designated exam centres on the right day and time.
Previously, there were speculations that the exams might be postponed in view of the international delegations visiting Islamabad.
Islamabad talks
On Friday, April 10, Pakistan is set to hold the Islamabad peace talks between the US and Iran after Pakistan successfully brokered a ceasefire between the two.
A large number of representatives and journalists with international news media want to come to Pakistan to cover the peace talks. Therefore, Pakistan is seeing a surge in demand for Pakistani visas, reports say.
In view of the upcoming talks, security in Islamabad has been tightened as well.
A two-day local holiday has been declared in the federal capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, on Thursday, April 9 and 10, 2026, as notified by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon.

This holiday is one of the reasons for the rumours about the cancellation or delay of exams that were being circulated.
In addition to this, traffic diversions will also be placed for security reasons on the Srinagar Highway due to the movement of foreign delegations, according to an Islamabad Police spokesperson.
Additionally, Islamabad Police has informed the public that traffic diversions will be imposed on the Express Highway during the movement of foreign delegations as well, reportedly.
