Web desk: Canada has opened a pathway for foreign nationals to apply for permanent residency through the Federal Skilled Worker Program under its Express Entry system. Pakistani nationals can also apply for this.
In an official statement, Canadian authorities said skilled workers are selected based on education, work experience, language ability, and other set criteria.
Eligiblity for Federal Skilled Worker Program
These steps are important to be eligible for the program. Applicants must meet minimum requirements related to their work experience, education level, language skills, and the National Occupational Classification linked to their profession.
Once these basic conditions are met, candidates are assessed through a points based system.
Applicants who score at least 67 points can qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program and may submit their profile to the Express Entry pool.
Points are awarded for language skills with a maximum of 28 points, education with up to 25 points, and skilled work experience with up to 15 points.
In addition, age with up to 12 points, arranged employment in Canada with up to 10 points, and adaptability with up to 10 points.
Proof of funds
Applicants must also show proof of sufficient funds to support themselves and their family after arriving in Canada.
The amount required depends on family size. A family of five needs at least 32,168 Canadian dollars.
A six member family must show 36,280 dollars, And a seven member family requires 40,392 dollars.
Proof of funds must be supported by official letters issued by banks or financial institutions.
