The female student who attempted suicide by jumping from a building at a private university in Lahore is recovering well after regaining consciousness, the private media channel reported on Friday.
Doctors have shifted the student to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Lahore General Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The medical board said her condition has improved significantly and remains stable. Doctors have scheduled surgery on her spinal vertebrae for Monday morning. A team of senior doctors and psychologists is closely monitoring her physical and mental recovery.
Medical Board Chairman Professor Jowdat Saleem said the student has been breathing on her own for the past two days without the support of a ventilator or oxygen. He added that since regaining consciousness, she has spoken with her parents as well as the medical staff.

A female student of the Barani Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, has accused her classmate, Muhammad Faizan, of sexual assault and blackmail.
Following her complaint, Islamabad Police registered a case at the Shams Colony police station and began an investigation.
According to the police, the student stated that the accused allegedly lured her by pretending to be in love.
Afterwards, he called her to his flat in Shams Colony, Islamabad, as per the complaint. She said that he sexually assaulted her there.
