Yesterday, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, arrived in Turkiye on a two-day official visit.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was warmly received upon his arrival in Turkiye, security sources said. During the visit, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will hold important meetings with Turkiye’s military and political leadership, security sources said.
Last month, the Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with the Turkish Land Forces Commander and discussed regional security, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, various aspects of further promoting the long standing brotherly relations and defence cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries were reviewed.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and General Mitan Tawakal reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the defence partnership between Pakistan and Turkey.
The two military leaders emphasised the importance of joint efforts for the promotion of regional peace and stability.
They also agreed to further expand military training, professional exchanges and cooperation in the defence sector.
