Field Marshal Asim Munir Undertakes Official Visit to Egypt

Web Desk: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), is on an official visit to Egypt, according to a statement from the  Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The visit aims to strengthen military cooperation and defence ties between Pakistan and Egypt.

During the trip, Field Marshal Asim Munir met with Egyptian Minister of Defence and Defence Production General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi.

The meetings focused on regional security, mutual interests, and ways to enhance defence collaboration.

Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Egypt is a brotherly country, and closer cooperation will benefit both nations and support regional peace and stability.

At the Ministry of Defence, he was given a warm welcome and presented with a Guard of Honour.

He also laid floral wreaths at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and at the grave of former Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Al Sadat.

Later, the Field Marshal Asim Munir met His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

The Grand Imam discussed challenges facing the Muslim world, while Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the need to counter extremist ideologies and distorted interpretations of Islam.
