‘PM, Field Marshal Asim Munir played key role in restoring Pakistan's pride’: CM Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz said that Pakistan’s role in the talks between the United States (US) and Iran is a moment of pride for the country on Saturday.

In a statement, she said the development is important for Pakistan. She said the country is now playing an active and leading role at the global level. She added that this reflects strong diplomacy.

Maryam Nawaz said that PM Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir played a key role in raising Pakistan’s image and position in the world.

She said the leadership’s strategy and continuous efforts have improved Pakistan’s global image. She added that the country’s credibility has increased.

The chief minister said these achievements have created a sense of pride among the people. She said Pakistan’s presence at the global level shows that its leadership is trusted and its policies are taken seriously.

According to officials, the talks between the United States and Iran are being held in Islamabad. Senior delegations from both countries are attending.

The US delegation is led by JD Vance, while the Iranian delegation is headed by Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.

Islamabad talks

In a post on X, Maryam Nawaz said that today is a proud moment for Pakistan. She said the country’s role on the global stage was once hard to imagine but is now a reality.

Further, she said the leadership has helped restore Pakistan’s dignity and global standing. She added that their efforts helped prevent a major conflict and saved many lives.

Maryam Nawaz said this shows true leadership. She also prayed for the country’s safety and progress.

Separately, she welcomed an address by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and appreciated the reduction in petroleum prices.

She congratulated the prime minister and his team. She said the government is working to reduce prices further as the economy improves.
