Web desk: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced that it will release the final quarterly payment of the year under the Benazir Kafaalat Scheme in October 2025. Each eligible family will receive Rs 13,500.
The programme was launched in 2008 and has now grown into Pakistan’s largest unconditional financial assistance scheme, as per the details.
Its core purpose is to provide direct financial relief to poor and vulnerable families across the country.
The program has two goals. In the short term, it seeks to protect low-income households against the adverse impact of increasing inflation, food shortages and stagnant economic growth.
It aims at poverty alleviation and empowering women in the long run. This helps in the accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Payments under the BISP Kafaalat Scheme are made every quarter. These cover January to March, April to June, July to September and October to December.
The upcoming October to December 2025 payment will be the last instalment of the year. BISP has confirmed that the disbursement will be carried out in phases, based on a district-wise schedule.
How to check your payment status in BISP
To make the process easier, beneficiaries can check their payment status. This can be done by sending their 13-digit Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number via SMS to 8171.
They will respond by automatically getting information about whether they are eligible or not, and their payment details.
Ever since its beginning, the BISP has been instrumental in benefiting low-income families in Pakistan.
The scheme has been widened in its coverage over the years. And it has been at the frontline of the social protection work of the government.
Through direct financial support, the programme assists in the basic needs of the families like food, healthcare and education.
The October disbursement will continue this mission. Offering vital financial support to millions of households at a time when many face economic pressure due to high living costs.
