WEB DESK: The first trailer of a documentary on Melania Trump has been released ahead of its cinema debut next year.
Titled MELANIA, the trailer was shared by Fox News on December 17. The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
The documentary promises rare access to the 20 days before the 2025 US presidential inauguration. A separate documentary series will also stream on Amazon later.
Speaking to Fox News, Melania said the period marked an intense personal transition. She described it as a defining chapter involving family matters, public duties, and planning ahead of the inauguration.
The trailer opens with Melania at her husband’s inauguration, where she is heard saying, “Here we go again.” The film features private meetings, behind-the-scenes footage, and moments not previously seen by the public.
“Witness history in the making” appears as the film’s tagline.
The project is directed by Brett Ratner, who has largely stayed away from Hollywood since 2017 after being accused of sexual harassment.
In a 2017 investigation by the Los Angeles Times, several women accused Ratner of sexual misconduct. He denied all allegations.
He later relocated to Israel and publicly described himself as a supporter of Israel. He is also known to be close to Benjamin Netanyahu.
The trailer includes appearances by Donald Trump, with Melania seen assisting him on camera. Trump describes his legacy as that of a peacemaker, a remark Melania reinforces.
At one point, Melania says viewers have long been curious and that she is now sharing her side of the story.
According to reports, Amazon paid around $40 million for the documentary rights. The project was first conceived in late 2024. A three-part docuseries will show Melania moving between New York, Washington, and Palm Beach.
MELANIA is scheduled for theatrical release on January 30.
