The residents of Peshawar and Bannu are receiving the 20kg flour bags at the highest prices as it hit records high and it goes beyond their reach.
In Peshawar and Bannu the price of a 20kg bag of flour has reached up to Rs3000 and has forced the residents of these areas to buy flour at the highest prices.
As per the details of Federal Bureau of Statistics the price of a 20kg flour bag has climbed to Rs3,000 in both Bannu and Peshawar.
While in Islamabad a 20kg bag of flour is available for Rs2,960 and in Rawalpindi it costs Rs2,933.
Prices in other cities include Rs2,850 in Quetta, Rs2,760 in Hyderabad and Rs2,700 in Karachi. In Sargodha, the price has reached Rs2,667. In Multan, Faisalabad, Sukkur, and Khuzdar, a 20kg bag is selling for Rs2,600.
In Sialkot the price is Rs2,540, in Bahawalpur, Rs2,506; in Larkana, Rs2,500 and in Gujranwala, Rs2,467.
Lahore residents are buying flour at the lowest price where a 20kg bag is selling for Rs1,850.
Chicken prices go up violating official rates
The hike in the prices of chicken continues and now poultry meat has reached to new high which has created problems for the already financial strained consumers.
As per market details the government-set price of broiler meat is Rs526 per kilogram but it is being sold in the open market for up to Rs550 per kilogram.
In the market the live chicken is being sold at Rs363 per kilogram and boneless chicken meat is priced at Rs700 per kilogram.
According to the citizens that the rising food prices without a corresponding increase in income are creating serious difficulties and broiler meat once considered an affordable source of protein is now slipping out of the reach of the common man.
