The government of Pakistan has increased the price of flour by Rs100.

The new price of the 20-kilogramme (kg) flour bag has been set to Rs2,800, which is Rs100 higher than the previous price, which was Rs2,700.

According to the media reports, the 20kg flour bag in Karachi is being sold at Rs2,800.

In the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, the flour bag of 20kg is being sold at Rs2,733, while in Rawalpindi, the new rate of the 20kg flour bag has been fixed at Rs2,707.

In Peshawar, the flour bag of 20kg is being sold at Rs2,750.

The shopkeepers of Quetta and Bannu are now selling the 20kg flour bag at the rate of Rs2,700.

The price of flour has risen across several cities in Pakistan, with significant differences recorded between regions, according to official data.

Documents show that the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has reached Rs2,600 in Hyderabad, making it one of the most expensive cities for the staple commodity.

In Khuzdar and Larkana, the same bag is being sold for Rs2,400.

In Punjab, prices remain comparatively lower but continue to vary.

A 20kg flour bag is available for Rs2,350 in Faisalabad, Rs2,333 in Gujranwala, Rs2,267 in Multan and Rs2,260 in Bahawalpur.

The data further shows that flour is being sold for Rs2,250 per 20kg bag in Lahore, while consumers in Sargodha and Sialkot are paying Rs2,200.

Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad were also listed among the cities where flour prices remain relatively high.

The continued increase in flour prices has added to the financial burden on households already facing rising living costs.

The economic efforts warn that higher prices of essential food items could contribute to further inflationary pressures.

Public representatives and consumer groups have called on the government to take immediate and effective measures to stabilise the prices of essential commodities, including flour, to provide relief to consumers.
