Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that the Strait of Hormuz is a key transit route for maritime trade and oil shipments, reiterating support for the early restoration of normal maritime flow in the region.

He stated that Iran and the United States (US) are engaged in talks, whether regarding a new plan or an existing one, and emphasised their belief in diplomacy and negotiations to resolve complex issues. Due to mutual trust between the parties, the details of the discussions and any concessions are not disclosed. Pakistan does not share detailed aspects of such talks with the media.
Tahir Andrabi confirmed that diplomatic contacts with both the United States and Iran are ongoing. He reiterated that Pakistan believes in resolving complex matters through dialogue and negotiations.
The FO spokesperson added that the President of Iran appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace. The Prime Minister welcomed the decision to send an Iranian delegation to Islamabad. Turkey assured Pakistan of its continued support for regional peace.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia for his ongoing support, noting that Saudi Arabia has played a significant role in Pakistan’s economic stability. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share strong, brotherly relations and are strategic defence partners, he added.
The spokesperson also stated that around 84 Pakistanis are currently stranded in Cambodia, including 76 men and 8 women, and efforts are underway to bring them back to Pakistan soon. Cambodian authorities have granted consular access to Bilal Mohsin through Pakistan’s diplomatic mission.
