Leftover food leaves family with food poisoning in Lodhran

Seven of the family members were hospitalised due to food poisoning over eating the leftover food in Lodhran.

On June 29, seven members of one family ate left over food late at night, due to which they started vomiting and fell ill.

The family was resided in the Chitti Masjid area, Mailsi road Kahroor Pacca, Lodhran.

According to the rescue officials, ambulances were immediately sent to the location after they got an emergency call.

They added that the rescue teams gave first aid to the victims on the spot, and shifted them to the THQ Hospital Kahroor Pacca for further treatment.

The victims that got food poisoning were recognised by the names, including Allah Bakhsh-45, Ansar Bibi-42, Shahzad-40, Mumtaz Mai-40, Sughran Mai-35, Akmal-10, and Rubina Bibi-15.

The District Emergency Officer (DEO), Engineer Shabab Aslam, also advised the public not to consume leftover food that has been cooked over long period of time.

He said that people should stay aware and avoid consuming improperly stored food to prevent the diseases like food poisoning.

According to the media reports, the victims are yet under intensive care and in stable condition.

Govt school in Hyderabad named among World’s best schools

A government school in Hyderabad, Pakistan has been named among the world’s leading educational institutions after being shortlisted for the World’s Best School Awards 2026.

Government Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain, located in Hyderabad, Sindh, has been selected among the top 10 finalists globally in the ‘Community Collaboration’ category of the awards, organised by the international education organisation T4 Education.

The World’s Best School Awards recognise schools that have made outstanding contributions to education, student wellbeing and community development.

Each year, finalists are selected from thousands of entries submitted by schools around the world.

According to the organisers, only two schools from Pakistan were shortlisted for this year’s awards. They include Government Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain and a private school from Punjab.

The Sindh government school earned its place on the global shortlist for its work in community collaboration, making it one of only 10 finalists worldwide in its category.
