Four terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night of June 3 and 4, according to the military’s media wing.

The operations took place in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of militants linked to Fitna-al-Khwarij.

In Dera Ismail Khan, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation based on reported militant activity. Troops engaged the hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire. Two militants were killed during the operation.

In a separate operation in Mohmand district, security forces conducted another targeted raid. An exchange of fire resulted in the killing of two more militants.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants. The military said the individuals were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.

Security forces have also launched sanitisation operations in both areas to clear any remaining threats and ensure no militants are still present.

The military said these actions are part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam”, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

ISPR added that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue intelligence-based operations across the country to eliminate militancy and improve overall security.
