Gallup Survey 2025 was released and it revealed that public sentiment in Pak improved in 2025, though people remain cautious about future.

According to a tweet of Khurram Schehzad Advisor to Finance Minister, Gallup Survey 2025 showed signs of ‘Recovery in Pakistan’.

Public Mood in Pakistan show Signs of Recovery

Pakistanis are showing cautious optimism about the direction of the country, according to the End of Year Survey by Gallup International Association (GIA).

The findings indicate an incremental improvement in public sentiment after several years of economic crisis, political instability and natural disasters.

Living Standards and Economic Outlook are Improved

The survey showed that 31 percent of Pakistanis feel that the living standards are improving, which is a significant increase from 15 percent in 2023.

Economic optimism has also gone up with 25 per cent saying the local economy improved in 2025 compared to 12 percent back in 2024.

These improvements are post macroeconomic stabilisation measures, including a drastic fall in inflation from 40 per cent in May 2023 to below 6 per cent, as well as a stronger currency and increasing foreign reserves.

Leadership Approval & Perception of Corruption

Leadership approval has risen to 36 percent, the highest level ever recorded since 2020.

Perceptions on corruption have also marginally reformed from what were record highs in 2023. However, majority of the respondents do believe corruption is still rife in government and business sectors.

Wellbeing and Public Happiness Increasing

There are significant and positive demonstrations on public wellbeing indicators. Around 25 percent of respondents now consider themselves to be “thriving” compared to 19 percent marking themselves as “suffering”, with levels of wellbeing falling to a record low during 2024.

The improvement is apparently broad based, cutting across gender, age, income and urban-rural groups. Additionally, close to three in four Pakistanis (73 percent) believe that they are happy about their lives.

Regional Comparison and Net Hope Score

Overall, 51 percent of Pakistanis are optimistic about the country’s future, compared 26 percent of those who are pessimistic. Meanwhile, 46 percent expect 2025 to be the year of economic prosperity.

In South Asia, Pakistan is among the less optimistic countries ahead of only Iran (27 percent optimism). Bangladesh (78 percent), China (71 percent) and India (66 percent) top the list of optimism.

The survey, which was carried out in 37 countries involving 37,338 people, has been an annual tradition since 1978.
