PESHAWAR: Ali Amin Gandapur has vacated the Chief Minister House in Peshawar on Friday and has left for his native district of Dera Ismail Khan.
Before leaving, Ali Amin Gandapur held a farewell meeting with party workers and Chief Minister House staff. After which he left with his personal staff.
It should be noted that Ali Amin Gandapur had announced his resignation from the post of Chief Minister two days ago, after which the PTI leadership nominated Sohail Afridi as the Chief Minister.
While resigning, Ali Amin Gandapur had said that the post of Chief Minister was a trust of the founder PTI and he is returning the post as per Imran Khan’s orders.
In a statement yesterday he had said that even if the founder PTI asks, “I will not accept the offer to become the Chief Minister again”.
However, despite directives from PTI founder Imran Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur continues to serve as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until Governor Faisal Karim Kundi formally accepts his resignation.
Gandapur’s resignation letter, which surfaced in the media on Wednesday night, appears to be stuck in bureaucratic delays.
Officials at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat maintain that the letter was delivered to the Governor House at 10:57pm, but the Governor’s Office denies receiving it.
