German Ambassador visits passport headquarters in Pakistan

Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ina Lepel, paid an official visit to the Passport Headquarters she and accompanying diplomats were warmly received by Director General Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi.

During the visit German delegation was given a full briefing on the operations of the Passport Department.

Officials highlighted advanced passport security features, improved service delivery standards, and the department’s ongoing digitalization and reform initiatives.

The delegation also received a special briefing on the Secure Hybrid Intelligence for Knowledge-Based Response Analytics (SHIKRA) system.

In addition, they toured key facilities, including the e-Passport unit, call center, forensic laboratory, and the modern production unit.

DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi briefed the visitors on Pakistan’s passport production processes aligned with international standards.

Ambassador Ina Lepel appreciated the quality of e-passport production and the integration of modern security features, terming them a positive step toward enhanced document security and service efficiency.

Germany opens healthcare jobs for Pakistani professionals: apply now

In a separate development Germany announced new job opportunities for Pakistani Professionals in the healthcare sector.

The BEOE said in an official statement that Germany has a serious shortage of trained nurses.

Pakistani nurses with recognised diplomas or degrees can apply for nursing jobs in Germany.

German authorities check educational credentials before giving work visas.

This verification is a mandatory first step.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must also show German language skills at B2 level or higher. Some may need extra training or equivalency exams.

The bureau does not recruit or license workers for Germany. It also does not charge any fees for advice or guidance.

Pakistani professionals should avoid unregistered agents and fake mediators.

They should only use official German government platforms and verified sources for information in order to get work done properly.

Recognition includes reviewing academic qualifications, nursing experience, and training.

The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment said Pakistani applicants with recognised diplomas or degrees can apply.

It is important that they complete the qualification recognition process required under German rules first.
