Undav helps Germany defeat Ivory Coast

Germany vs Ivory Coast FIFA World Cup match, on Sunday, resulted in Deniz Undav helping the German team secure a win over Ivory Coast.

Germany is now headed to the knockouts for the first time since winning the World Cup in 2014.

It was seen as a win for both the head coach, Julian Nagelsmann and the new guard.

Despite facing challenges in the last two World Cups, the new team have displayed dominance in this year’s global tournament so far.

Younger players like Felix Nmecha faced the match headstrong while Jamie Leweling proved to be a key player.

Nadiem Amiri went ahead for the equaliser set up. On the other hand, Undav led the game during his first World Cup.

So far, he has scored three goals along with two assists at this year’s international football tournament.

Deniz Undav is now emerging as a strong force for the German national team after yesterday’s intense Germany vs Ivory Coast FIFA World Cup game.

While speaking to the ZDF, Nagelsmann said, “He’s a full-blood striker. He scored two super goals.”

Ivory Coast gives Germany a tough time

Ivory Coast gave Germany a tough competition throughout the match. Emerse Fae’s energy kept the Elephants going ahead.

They took the lead with their 19 year old winger Yan Diomande. He assisted Amad Diallo whose close range shot was then blocked by Nathaniel Brown.

However, Kessie was quick to convert the rebound.

The Germans grew even more frustrated after Havertz got a goal ruled out because of a foul on Emmanuel Agbadou by Jamal Musiala amid the build up.

Both an unmarked Christ Inao Oulai and Kessie missed opportunities to extend the Ivory Coast’s advantage.

Brown and Amiri’s attempts had been successfully blocked by Fofana. However, he found himself powerless in front of Undav.

The German forward then controlled a pass from Felix Nmecha and finished past the goalkeeper on the turn.

All hope came crashing down for Ivory Coast in the final few seconds.

Now, the Elephants are expected to still go on from Group E with a win against Curacao in their final game.
